I'm Given Bronze. I Demand Gold Gold Gold!

Mortarboard is a bronze badge that is supposed to be reasonably easy to get if you put in the effort. Earning 200 reputation in a day once is not terribly difficult, and even easier with our upvote-...

Upvoting while avoiding irregularities

I'm pretty sure that what you have in mind is just fine. What the system does look out for, though, is a large number of votes given to the same user. Such voting can be reversed, either ...

Shouldn't the Tumbleweed badge be either gold or burned?

Angelic sigh Sorry, that's the best I can do on the special effects. As others said, the badge lists are global and sites can't customize them. Take a look at the badge list here on meta, which ...

Badge viability

As far as I'm aware, there is no review of badges. This is probably simply because badges are an SE-wide unchanging feature, and I think it unlikely that there is any functionality to control badges ...

Why would my vote totals for the day not be adding up?

Shouldn't the Tumbleweed badge be either gold or burned?

As far as I know we can't burn badges. They are the same across the network. This leads to cases like Tumbleweed - on a site like worldbuilding, which is focused on creativity, it's nearly impossible ...

Why hasn't the site awarded me the Curious, Inquisitive or Socratic badges?

Most likely, you have not maintained a positive question record. The formula is: $$\frac{(\text{total}_q - \text{negative}_q - \text{closed}_q - \text{deleted}_q)}{\text{total}_q} \geq 0.5$$ So a ...

Shouldn't the Tumbleweed badge be either gold or burned?

I've gotten one on a different board. The culture and relatively small size of WB makes this impossible. The badge definitions are global.
