If Neptune Orbited Jupiter by HDE 226868
Habitable moons around gas giants have been a staple of science fiction, and they’ve come up a number of times on Worldbuilding. Yet they’ve remained largely hypothetical in our universe — until recently. In October, a pair of astronomers presented additional evidence for a Neptune-sized moon orbiting Kepler-1625b about ten times the mass of Jupiter. If confirmed, this object would be the first known exomoon — a moon orbiting an exoplanet. While they caution that these are only the first inklings of evidence for this candidate, it’s certainly an exciting object to speculate about. One question has been in many people’s minds: Does this mean exomoons could be habitable?

Previous post: Discord (Harmony 2): The Entropy Note by FoxElemental
Part 1 introduced us to the world of the harmonic crystals -- powerful, dangerous harmony and disharmony. The story continues in part 2 (and if you don't remember part 1 well enough it still works).
“That’s all we know about the incident. Various hacking and breaching attempts have been made with the highest levels of overrides, but ARI is unresponsive. Research into the possibility of involvement of Great Notes is ongoing.”
The rest of the lectures are all vague theories and data on how the incident has affected such-and-such. My eyes glaze over until, finally, it was time to leave.
I jump up and hurry out the door, back to the research lab. The harmonizers are trying something new today, something that might mean a breakthrough. And possibly promotion, for me.
I wonder what ARI is doing now, dormant, resting.
We’re getting closer.
