Clarification.
May 4, 2020 at 21:07 comment added Andrew Brēza @elemtilas thanks for pointing me that way! I came here after I'd found a lot of other resources so I hadn't checked that page. Obviously I need to fix that.
May 4, 2020 at 20:51 comment added elemtilas @AndrewBrēza -- We have quite a few (though likely not all) Reddit forums listed in the linked Worldbuilding Resources!
May 4, 2020 at 20:26 comment added Andrew Brēza I suggest checking out Reddit. There are a few subreddits that can help you flesh out your ideas, such as worldbuilding and writingprompts.

May 1, 2020 at 14:29 comment added Matthew Alas, I don't know anywhere either, I just know that when I tried to ask such a question at Writing.SE... well, it was not a pleasant experience. I don't want anything to do with that community as a result. I mostly wanted to say something because it sounds like you are suggesting Writing.SE for such questions, and I don't want someone else, especially someone new to SE, to have the same bad experience I had.
May 1, 2020 at 12:11 comment added Bellerophon @elemtilas I don't think there is an SE site that is appropriate for character/plot development. There are (or were) other websites that help with that though I can't remember the names off the top of my head. Alternatively the chat here would probably help although it is pretty quite at the moment.
May 1, 2020 at 5:17 comment added elemtilas @Matthew - What would you suggest for an alternative?
May 1, 2020 at 2:36 comment added Matthew In my experience, Writing.SE is also not "here to write your story for you" or "to develop characters or plots"; those sorts of questions will attract downvotes and scathing comments. They only want questions that are useful to people beyond the OP.
Apr 30, 2020 at 21:40 comment added SRM We do worlds, not characters. Although, really, posting on Worldbuilding can be quite a character building exercise. ;-)
